WHO WE ARE
PPS was started in November 2016, by a group of people ambitious and driven to get the best out of young sportspeople. It started by supporting performance tennis players who had potential but lacked support and funding. This was before launching a growth strategy in September 2018 to build a structure of programmes and support across three target areas (community progression, sport advancement, career path) and a variety of sports.
Performance Plus Sport UK is governed by The Tim Henman Foundation and complies with their policies. All original PPS Trustees remain involved and the PPS Director is the CEO of The Tim Henman Foundation.

A former International Tennis Player on The ATP Tour also playing Davis Cup and Grand slam events.
A former Director of the LTA and committee member of the AELTC and Wimbledon Championships.
He represented Europe on WTA Board and sat on the European ATP Board.
A Director of Sports Marketing Partners, Laurus Sports and Street Games.
President of The Dorset Tennis Association.
LOVES: Trying to hit a hole in one and giving young people the opportunities to play.
Karl Altenburg

A keen sportsman representing Europe in corporate tennis games in 2018. Executive Vice President at Plastic Energy. A Senior Advisor of Citigroup in Europe. Co-Head of Corporate Finance Europe, Middle East & Africa at Deutsche Bank 2014-2016. Managing Director of JP Morgan 1993-2014. President of The German Tennis Federation 2011-14.
LOVES: Playing sport, travelling with his family, piano playing to his dog and helping to make the planet a cleaner and healthier place to live.
Lars Clausen
Plays all sports from Tennis, golf, triathalon, cycling and wind sailing. Chairman and CEO of Zoo Communications. A Director of Laurus Sports.
LOVES: Hitting a straight drive on the golf course, second serve aces and plans to swim the channel in 2020. Also helping young people who have the right mind set succeed on and off the field of play.

A former professional tennis player, and performance coach. Now running PPS, James is motivated to create opportunities for young sportspeople to get the best out of themselves, like he did as a tennis player.
